PICK A PAGE FROM MAGICIAN'S MUSE & I'LL SHARE IT HERE

With just a little over a month before MAGICIAN'S MUSE comes out (it's usually out earlier than the Oct. 1st pub date for pre-orders), I want to share something with fans.

The book has almost 300 pages but I don't want to give away the ending, so pick between pages 1-250 and the first two people who respond, I'll copy those pages to share here.

The opening of MAGICIAN'S MUSE has already been posted on this blog if you look back several posts.

Can you post pg. 118?

I seriously CAN'T WAIT for Magician's Muse.

Linda, How excited are you about the upcoming release??

Linda Joy Singleton said...

Okay, Kristin--here it is!
Page 118:
“More you. Only you.”
“You have me," Dominic said.
“Do I?” My voice caught, seeing beyond his words to an image of him traveling in his truck on a lonely road far away. “I have this feeling you’re still planning to leave.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Stay here and we’ll hide together,” I told him. “The tree house isn’t much smaller than a studio apartment and totally private. The animals can bring anything we need and we could be happy here forever.”
“Until another investigator or the police show up.”
“What would it take to make you stay? I’ll do anything.”
He cupped my face in his strong, rough hands, staring deep and hard into my soul. My own emotions were so insane with desire, fear and joy that I couldn’t see beyond them into his mind. What was he thinking? Did he know how far I’d go to keep him with me? I’d give myself completely to him, not only because I loved him so much, but because I knew that would keep him here longer. Anything, anything…he only had to nod.
Instead he shook his head, turning away.
There was a silence in the tree house that lingered like long barren of seasons; spring blossoms dying, summer’s burning heart, fall’s loss of innocence and brutal winter reality.
“Dominic?” I called softly to him.
He didn’t answer; his aura charcoal gray and smoldering crimson fire.

Someone should totally ask for page 119!

...or an ARC? :D

I just pre-ordered my copy! Can't wait!!

Linda Joy Singleton said...

So someone should ask (g). I offered to let TWO people pick pages to share. So the next person who asks, I'll post that page.

Okay so what is on pg. 119? Or is there a better page to ask for? On which page does a person die? Post that one. I love the Seer series.

Linda Joy Singleton said...

Anonymous--since you asked, you'll have to decide for sure which page you want before I post it. If you want something that hints at the murder (I won't reveal the name yet), you could ask for page 77.

o0o0o do pg 119!! now im curious!! LOL

Linda Joy Singleton said...

Okay--a 2nd person asked, so here is Page 119:

“Please,” I whispered, shifting on the couch toward him. His face, twisted in anguish, broke my heart. “Tell me what you’re thinking.”
His granite gaze was distant; as if he’d gone far away while his body was still here. Fear slithered up my spine. When he reached for my hand, his skin sweaty hot, I knew something had changed.
“It all comes down to respect,” he finally said. “I don’t deserve any from you or Nona if I don’t respect myself, too. And I can’t respect someone who dumps their problems on the people he cares about and hides from his own mistakes..”
“You’re not like that. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I killed my uncle whether I meant to or not,” he said in a chilly winter tone.
“What are you going to do?” I asked, fears rising.
“Face my demons.” His gaze swept around the room as if he was seeing it for the last time. “Tomorrow I’ll go to the P.I. and turn myself in.”

Linda Joy Singleton said...

Well...keep in mind that you're only reading part of the book here. There's more to the story about Dominic killing his uncle.

But you won't have to wait long!
Oct. 1st is the pub date for MAGICIAN'S MUSE, and it could even come out earlier for anyone who pre-ordered it from a bookstore or online site like Amazon.

When I first discovered your Seer series I was home sick from school and my BFF came to my house and brought me reading material to feel better. The book she brought me was Witch Ball. I found out at the end that it was actually book 3. I went to the library - nausea and all- to pick up the other books. I read them all and went on to buy them. I adore this series and I made all of my friend's read the book. I'm really excited to read Magician's Muse is a week and 4 days. I love your writing style and this series is very original. I LOVE IT!!!!
Thank You for writing it! <3333

Sorry! Minor mistake I meant to say "in a week and 4 days"
