Will Book Collecting Survive E-Books?

As an author whose books are selling more e-reader copies than paper copies, I wonder about the future of book collecting. Downloading a book doesn’t mean you own it. You can’t loan it to a friend. You can’t display it on a shelf. And how reliable are reading devices for protecting your e-library?

That's one of my concerns, too. I love books: the hand-held, tangible kind. And I love my home library. I'm always loaning or borrowing books, and you can't do that with e-books. For that reason, I don't think print books will go out of style. I think there will just be two kinds of books available in the future for two kinds of readers.
